Welcome, and thank you for visiting my website. I'm Sue, and I began learning to sew as a small child. At different periods in my life I sewed home furnishings, clothing for my dolls, myself, my dogs, whatever seemed interesting. When I began doing "living history" in 1999, I began sewing period correct clothing for myself and my husband. Over time, friends and other re-enactors began asking me to sew items for them, and so Sue's Old Fashions was born. I began with Wild West (1880s), moved backward in time to the Civil War (1860s), then The War of 1812, Revolutionary War, French and Indian War, Renaissance, with a few belly dance and Halloween costumes thrown in. I enjoy different projects, so if you have an idea for a piece of custom clothing, please feel free to contact me.
Finding a source for period correct clothing can be a challenge, but if you have an idea in mind, I can help you realize it!
Working with a small company (I am a company of one) means you can have more input into the specifics of your order. If you need a special fabric or design, I will personally work with you to make it happen.
